Once Jimmy Roc moved to town, Los Angeles would never be the same.

Jimmy Roc, a premier host for the LA entertainment scene, was born on October 28th, 1980 in Providence, Rhode Island.  Raised in Cranston, RI, this entertainment mogul originally aspired to be a professional baseball player, but fate would have it otherwise.  Despite a few interesting childhood mishaps – from an unfortunate Mr. T haircut resulting from a Halloween costume one year, to getting an eraser stuck in his nose in kindergarten – Jimmy Roc was destined to be a rock star.  His first concert took place when the legendary Rolling Stones played at Foxboro Stadium, and this experience lit the fire that would eventually land him where he is today.

In beginning his career, Roc graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Communications from Rhode Island College, and became involved with the college radio station.  His involvement in the station enabled him to land an internship at “The Home of Rock and Roll” 94WHJY in Providence, RI.  While interning there, he rocked jobs in everything from promotions, setting up live broadcasts, to driving company vehicles.  During his experience at 94WHJY, an unnamed program director told Roc that he should “find something behind the scenes,” and in response, Jimmy Roc told him to shove it.  Proving his determination, the next day he landed a gig in Boston, MA at 107.3 WAAF, playing everything from Slipknot to Alice in Chains.  He then grabbed a microphone, and talked his way into a thriving career.  Starting out on this station, Roc began hosting promotions, and would eventually build a resume of over 1,000 promotions, which built and honed Roc’s abilities to be a radio host.

After bombarding his program director with demo after demo, day after day, he finally gave Jimmy his shot, and put him on air.  Roc lived up to his name by rocking the waves as a radio host, and became a legitimate force in the music industry.  However, after a good run with the station, Jimmy Roc had a vision: he was too pretty for radio.

In Lieu of epiphany, Roc quit his job, and made the decision to move to Los Angeles, California.  According to Roc himself, it was “the best decision I made in the history of Earth.”  Once he arrived in the sunny LA, Jimmy Roc grabbed a gig as a VJ for Hollywood Music Television.  This spot has allowed him to cover everything from Ozzfest, Mayhemfest, and Family Values to major shows at the “Whiskey a Go Go” and “Viper Room.” While with HMTV, Roc also hosted an in-studio talk show entitled “Audio Infected,” where he interviewed bands, artists, and actors from the greater LA scene.  Roc went on to further his abilities by attending The Groundlings Improv School in Hollywood.  In addition, he has also taken over hosting duties for a show on The Stream.tv, which is a live interactive entertainment network, as well as the launching of his own sites,www.youaintrock.com and www.jimmyroc.com

Somewhere between his move to LA, the lack of sleep, the recurrent watching of Point Break and Blow, and the introduction to a whole new world of entertainment, Jimmy Roc grew some gnarly dreadlocks, further legitimizing his already on-par rock star image.  While he no longer rocks the dreads, he still exerts that raw passion and rock image that lets people know at a first glance with whom they are dealing.  And despite a crazy strong east coast accent, the west coast has embraced Jimmy Roc as an entertainment god.
